Lachiguiri Children's Fiesta

This last Saturday was a big day in Lachiguiri.

We had a big Children's Fiesta with Sindi the clown,
Jeanette from Puppet Revelations making animal balloons for the children, local music with the youth music group from Pastor Nely's church, a music group from Pastor Roberto Morales mission in Salina Cruz, Will and Edith Lashmit with their puppet ministry from the Isthmus. Then Edith gave a fabulous illustrated Bible Story using stories of animals and the wordless book.

Afterward we had seven piƱatas filled with candy and treats. There were around 250 children along with their older brothers and sisters and moms and dads. Adults love children's stories so it was a great outreach for the community.

Then the team all went back to Israel's house where Virginia had made a somewhat American chili stew and tortillas made to stretch for the team and other families. We probably fed at least 25 people all together.

Jeanette who has a desire to provide puppet stories for remote Spanish speaking groups was able to work with Pastor Nely who has written over 50 children's songs and with Edith who has written most of her own Bible Stories. We will use our new recording studio to record them in Spanish and then Jeanette will be able to get them to all the missionaries she is in contact with who have been asking for good Spanish Christian Bible Stories and music for children who live in remote areas. Much was accomplished.

Today Jeanette heads back to Colorado. She lost her passport in Mexico City so please be in prayer with us that they found it so she has no problem reentering the States. On the plane she flies out of I have friends from Squaw Valley Mountain Bible Church coming down. They want to see the mission and help with some construction.

We will first stop at the La Cruzacita mission where they are pouring cement for a floor for their church and constructing some bathrooms for the rescue mission. We will have the privilege of eating fresh lobster that Pastor Damian caught.
